Biography
Michael Garnon Norton is a watercolor artist, painting contemporary western subjects and scenes of the Southwest. Michael is a native of Tucson, Arizona. His art education consists of a Bachelor of Fine Arts (1975) and a Master of Fine Arts Degree (1979) from the University of Arizona, Tucson.

Michael's experience with horses is a family matter as members raise Quarter Horses while his wife Becki has an extensive background with Hunter/Jumpers. Michael and his family spend time in the Northwest Tucson area surrounded by mountains and magnificent desert vegetation.

Michael's work has been featured in the Arizona Quarter Horse magazine on several occasion, as he has the unique ability to capture the subtle colors of the desert as well as the bold action associated with the West.

Presently an Associate Member of the National Watercolor Society, Michael has been a past member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild and the Arizona Watercolor Association. He has received numerous awards and his paintings are in many private collections in north America and Mexico. Galleries in Tucson and Tubac, Arizona presently represent Michael.
