Artist's Statement
While painting many different subjects over the years, I have been primarily interested in capturing those qualities of space and light that illuminate the essence of our lives.

In painting, subject matter is secondary; landscape, plants, animals, people, all are of interest as long as space, light and some small spark of the greater spirit that surrounds us all can be found. I find beauty in many places. My hope is to translate some of what I see and feel, connecting the viewer with a greater level of consciousness.

William Wordsworth said it best when he wrote:

Thanks to the human heart by which we live
Thanks to its tenderness, its joys and fears
To me the meanest flower that blows can give
Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears.
